Mason's Little Fort

After we set up the work space for Travis, Travis set up a little space for Mason with the boxes that the room divider came in. It was the perfect size for a little fort. It's even tall enough for Mason to stand up in and big enough for his chair and a stool/table.

I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to keep all the cardboard because of the size and our lack of storage space but it actually fits nicely behind the couch and you can't even tell that it's there.

Idaho: The Train

Mason LOVES trains. His Grandma Turner came across some tickets to take a short ride to Shelley and back while some volunteers told the passengers about train safety. He had a good time.

We met at the potato museum for the train ride. We talked about taking Mason through the museum while we were in Idaho but we never made time for it. Maybe next time.

Idaho: Bikes, Buddies, Bedtimes, and Black Eyes

This was one of the first times Mason sat on Grandpa Turner's bike. He learned how to turn it on and honk the horn. He wasn't sure about the bike at first but I think he decided it was kind of a fun toy.
This is at the balloon launch but I wanted it next to the other picture of Mason sitting with his cousin. Mason really enjoyed playing with his cousins while in Idaho.

Mason refused to take off the hat at bedtime so this is how he went to bed one night.

If you look under his eye you can see his little shiner (his first) he got at church. It had had some time to heal by the time this picture was taken so it doesn't look too bad. He wouldn't hold still while they were passing the sacrament and swung forward and hit the bench in front of us. I almost made it out of the chapel before he caught his breath and started crying. When he decided it was ok to go back into the chapel for the closing prayer and song someone else was coming out and he got hit in the head by a swinging door. I wonder if we should have just gone home earlier and cut our losses.

Riding the tricycle in Grandma Smith's driveway.

Idaho: The Balloon Launch

We got up nice and early so we could be in Driggs to see the balloon launch on the morning of July 3rd. We wanted to be there by 5:30am so we could see them fill the balloons. There were several balloons and getting up before the sun was worth it.

Idaho: The Zoo

We went to the Tautphas Park Zoo while in Idaho. I wish I had taken more pictures with Mason. I have a lot of pictures of animals but there were only a few with Mason the turned out good. He liked petting a couple of the animals. Next time we'll make sure he pets the other end.

Our Trip To Idaho: The Fence

We were able to go to Idaho for a few weeks this summer and we had a blast. Mason's Grandma Smith was having a fence put up in her backyard and Mason thought it was pretty cool to be able to "help" put it up. His cousin has a toy power drill that we borrowed so Mason could help his Grandpa Smith and Travis with the fence and he thought it was the greatest thing.

While the fence was going up Mason was also learning about dirt. I got the impression that he wasn't sure if it was okay to get dirty. I guess I need to get him out more.

This was also in Grandma Smith's backyard and Mason loved it. He played in it for quite a while. He even made Grandma Smith go in with him several times.

I loved this picture of him playing peek-a-boo with his grandma.

This was just the first couple of days in Idaho. More to come...

The Mom Song.flv

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

I heard this in the car the other day and thought I would share it for Mother's Day. I'm sure some of you mom's have heard it before but I thought it was kind of funny and appropriate for all the moms out there.
